What is a Notary Public?

A Notary Public is a person of proven Honesty and Integrity appointed by the California Secretary of State, to Serve the Public as an Impartial Witness.  The Notary Public's Basic Role is to be an unbiased third party, who Verifies the Identity of Signers of important documents, guaranteeing that the signer Personally Appeared before the Notary at the time of notarization.   Learn more about the rules that the Notary and the Signer must follow.
